Locusts with Human Face and the Holocaust
The locusts in the Book of Revelation have been interpreted in many different ways. Some people believe that they point to the Holocaust, the systematic extermination of Jews by the Nazis during World War II. This interpretation is based on the following passages from Revelation: Revelation 9:3-11 describes the locusts as having the faces of men, the hair of women, the teeth of lions, and the tails of scorpions. They are said to have a sting that brings pain like that of a scorpion. Thus the passages in Revelation could be confirmed as a prophecy of the Nazi's systematic extermination of the Jews.
Of course, this is just one interpretation of the locusts in Revelation. There are many other possible interpretations, and it is impossible to say for sure what the author of Revelation meant. However, the Holocaust is a horrific event that should never be forgotten, and it is understandable why some people would see parallels between the locusts in Revelation and the Nazis.
We still need to note that there is no consensus among biblical scholars about the interpretation of the locusts in Revelation. Some scholars believe that they are a literal description of locusts, while others believe that they are a symbolic representation of something else. The Semiotic prophecies of Revelation are very unstable, and we're not allowed to add or cancel anything in the book.
